My two favorite exercises for vertical jump are Jump rope and jump squats.

When it comes to the jump squat the name tells you what to do. Squat down coming up on your toes and then explode upward as high as you can lifting your knees up staying off the ground as long as possible. Then as soon as you hit the ground squat down and jump up again. I would do three sets of 10 to start with increasing the sets to 5 as it gets easier.

The jump rope should be done with vertical jumping in mind. My advice would be to work on doing doubles which just means the rope passes under your feet twice before you touch the ground. I have included a video of what doubles look like below. This demo was for another purpose but will help you see what is going on. The only difference is you would be jumping higher and tucking your knees more on each jump. Record your progress and you should see some improvement. There are of course many other things you can do, but this gets you off to a good start.

Good Luck!
